Did You know?

All snow is not the same!

Dry powdery snow or "Ski snow" results when Star-like snowflakes fall through cold, dry air. A cubic foot of DRY SNOW weighs about 3 POUNDS.

Snow Crystals that form at warmer temperatures tend to have more water content and clump together as they pile up. A cubic foot of WET SNOW weighs about 10 POUNDS.

Heavy snow crystals can be harsh on a roof system. One way to help reduce the wear and tear on a roof this winter is to protect it!

How? Westile extruded concrete Ballast Pavers, that's how!

Westile Pavers have a lighter weight than regular ballast stone for roofing but are designed with a T&G edge to interlock and resist wind up lift pressures on roofing while protecting the roofing system underneath.

What else is there? LightGuard Protected Membrane roofing systems.

LightGuard can also protect your roofing system and at the same time add insulation. With the projected increase in energy costs coming this winter it is an excellent time to add insulation and protect your roofing system. LightGuard can do this in one application!

Be sure to contact your local Seward Sales Representative and ask about these valuable products and who is the licensed local contractor in your area.

Want to save your new building owner big bucks over the next ten years?

Add 2" of Styrofoam Brand Insulation from the Dow Chemical Company. As of October 2005, an additional 2" at $0.60 sq.ft. will payback $0.06 sq.ft. anually. This additional 2" cost of $30,000 will pay you back in 10 years on a 50,000 sq.ft. roof which is better then investing that same $30,000 in money markets, real estate or CD's and more importantly it will keep on paying you back even after 10 years! Lets look ahead at December 2005. Energy bills are projected to skyrocket 60%! We are talking even bigger values for your dollar. Adding 2" to your next roofing project is a "SIMPLE DECISION"!!!!

How about compounding the insulation savings! How you say?

Use adhesive to adhere your roofing assembly instead of the "energy robbing" mechanical fasteners. Oak Ridge National Laboratories show that by removing mechanical fasteners and using adhesives instead, you can reduce the energy loss of the roof assembly by 8.4% and that's at rates on gas for 8/2005. Gas rates have gone up in some areas by 8% in October 2005 alone. Think about these energy saving ideas now and where we are heading this winter.

Start saving energy on your next roof project and ask the folks at Seward Sales about Insta-Stik polyurethane adhesives for roofing. By reducing the mechanical fasteners you can enhance the energy system on your next roofing project.
